Using manipulatives is a fun, hands-on way for children to learn math concepts. Since Valentine’s Day is just a couple of weeks away, we have been using conversation hearts in many of our learning activities. Using conversation hearts is a visual way for children to compare numbers in this Conversation Heart More or Less Activity.

Directions for the Conversation Heart More or Less Activity:
Children will…
- Identify each number on the Conversation Heart More or Less Printable
- Count out the number of conversation hearts

- Determine if the numbers are equal or what number is greater than or less than the other number.
- Write the greater than, less than, or equal to symbol in the circle on the Conversation Heart More or Less Printable to complete the math sentence.
This Conversation Heart More or Less Activity is one of my favorite math activities because children use many math skills like identifying numbers, comparing numbers, determining value, and writing math sentences.

A fun and edible activity we don’t have conversation hearts in the UK but do have love hearts that look a little like the same thing. Will have to use those instead.
Love it! What a fun way to practice more and less!
