Summer is the perfect time of the year to enjoy the warm weather and spend the extra hours of daylight playing backyard games and outdoor activities for kids. Every night, we go outside after dinner and spend time as a family playing games. Here are 5 Family Fun Backyard Games:
Croquet– In the game of Croquet, players hit a plastic or wooden balls with a mallet through hoops or wickets that are placed in the grass.
Wiffle Ball– Wiffle Ball is similar to baseball but it is played with a light-weight, plastic ball with holes in it and a long, yellow, plastic bat.
Badminton– When playing Badminton, players score points by hitting a shuttlecock with their racquets so that it goes over the net and lands in the opponents’ half of the court.
Cornhole– In the game of Cornhole, players take turns throwing bean bags at a raised platform with a hole in it. Throw a bean bag in the hole and score 3 points. Throw one on the platform and score 1 point. The winner is the team or player who reaches 21 points.
Tetherball– While playing Tetherball, two players stand on opposite sides of a pole and each player tries to hit the ball in opposite directions. The winner of the game is the player who winds the ball all the way around the pole.
