The book, If You Give A Mouse A Cookie by Laura Numeroff is one of our all-time favorites. We love to incorporate stories that we treasure and read over and over into our learning activities. To help my toddler practice counting, I created these If You Give A Mouse A Cookie Inspired Counting Mats.
With these mats and Cookie Crisp cereal, your child can practice identifying numbers and counting from 1 cookie to 20 cookies. Your son or daughter will not only love learning with a popular book character but will also enjoy a sweet treat after practicing to count.

- Laminating Pouches or Self-Adhesive Laminating Sheets
- Cookie Crisp Cereal (or other type of cookie)

- Put Cookie Crisp cereal in a bowl
How To Play:
- Pick a counting mat

- Count that number of cookies
- Place the cookies on the mat
- Eat the cookies!
If You Give A Mouse A Cookie Inspired Counting Mats can be used as an independent activity or center in any classroom or homeschool. This would also be a fun activity to use at the beginning of the school with the book, If You Take A Mouse To School too.
