It’s National Read A Book Day! As a mom and a teacher, I love reading books to children and seeing the expressions on their faces as they discover a new story for the first time or enjoy a classic book that they have listened to over and over again.
Even though it is National Read A Book Day, children should read or listen to stories everyday. Reading is a fun way for children to learn and explore new things.
My boys love looking at picture books and listening to stories too, so I’ve enlisted my Little Superheroes to help me today. I asked them to pick their favorite books off of their book shelves. Here are 15 of the Best Books for Little Boys:
I Love You Through And Through by Bernadette Rossetti Shustak
Little Blue Truck by Alice Schertle
I Love You Because You Are You by Liza Baker
Goodnight, Gorilla by Peggy Rathmann
Moo Ba La La La by Sandra Boynton
Whatever You Do, I Love You! by Ellen Weiss
We’re Going On A Bear Hunt by Helen Oxenbury
My Precious Little Bear by Claire Freedman
Go, Dog Go by P.D. Eastman
If You Give A Mouse A Cookie by Laura Joffe Numeroff
The Alphabet Book by P.D. Eastman
There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Fly by Pam Adams
Where The Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak
So Big! by Anna Jane Hays
My First Look And Find: Jake and the Neverland Pirates by Editors of Publications International
(Of course, these books are not just of boys. Girls will love these stories too. Also, these books are for children around 2 to 5 years old but both younger and older children will enjoy them too.)
My Little Superheroes had so much fun picking and reading 15 of the Best Books for Little Boys in celebration of National Read A Book Day today.
